"We will Remember"

This morning, the whole school walked up to the war memorial to take part in a short Act of Remembrance, led by the Rev Chris, together with some of the local village community. During the short service, a wreath was laid on our behalf by the oldest and youngest child in the school and prayers were said. It has been very moving to be part of ‘Ilmington Remembers’, a series of special events in the village to mark the centenary of the ending of the First World War: some of the Junior children’s poetry and artwork, including a couple of hundred hand-made poppies, are on display in the village hall and, after the act of remembrance, we visited the hall to see it.
