Safe and Active Schools

At Ilmington, road safety is high on our agenda. In our rural position, it can be even more difficult for children to navigate roads safely due to lack of pavements, crossings, etc. However, we believe that through providing our children with road safety education, helping them to put that knowledge into practice and by working together with our families, we can ensure the next generation are not only safe on our roads but will choose to use alternative transport rather than jumping into a car for every journey.

Over the academic year, all year groups take part in a variety of activities which promote being active and travelling safely. These include Bikeability, taking home Fred Bear (Warwick Bear's cousin!), becoming Road Safety Spies and Road Safety Superheroes.
