Prayer is an important part of our life at Ilmington C of E Primary School. We have many opportunities to pray within our school day.
Our school prayer is:
Keep us, oh God, in your ways, that we might be loving and kind. Help us to learn about your world and care for your creatures, great and small. Grant us, throughout this day, your love, forgiveness and peace, that we might care for others and offer the best we can be.
In our hall, we have a prayer station where members of our school community are invited to share a prayer with the whole school in collective worship.
In each classroom we have a reflective corner which includes an opportunity for children to write their own prayers which are shared with their class at the end of the day. Our reflective corners are interactive and each one class has an activity to support them in their reflection, such as a 'daily ponder' or weekly theme.
Our prayer for lunch time is:
For what we are about to receive, may the Lord make us truly thankful.
The children in EYFS have their own special prayer.
Thank you for the world so sweet, thank you for the food we eat, thank you for the birds that sing, thank you God for everything.
