Ilmington Church of England Primary

Ilmington 11

The Ilmington 11 are 11 amazing adventures that the children who attend Ilmington School have the opportunity to experience before they leave our school at 11. When they complete the adventure, they earn an Ilmington 11 badge and they share this in Collective Worship so that the whole school can celebrate.

Trail Blazers

The EYFS children complete 6 country hikes across the year, exploring our local area. 

Farm Friends

Year 1 and Year 2 have a link with one of our local farms. They visit the farm to learn about how farming works and where our food comes from. 

Church Mice

The EYFS children decorate St. Mary's Church at Christmas time with their hand made decorations. 

Community Cares

The children in Year 3 and Year 4 prepare and serve afternoon tea for our Village Friends. 

Book Worm

Year 3 and Year 4 children read to the younger children in our school to earn their Book Worm badge. They are supported by our Lead Librarian, Mrs Franklin. 

Eco Warrior

The Year 1 and Year 2 children work on an eco scheme and this is different each year. In the past, they have worked on bird watching and this year they are working to plant trees on our school site. 

International Friends 

The Year 3 children have a link with children who attend a school in Kenya.


Folk Dancers

The Year 5 children learn to Morris Dance, led by the Traditional Ilmington Morris Men. They perform the dance Shepherd's Hey at our May Day celebration and are invited to perform at the Ilmington Open Gardens and, in the past, they have performed at Countryfile Live. 

Brilliant Bards

The children in Year 5 and Year 6 have the opportunity to visit the Royal Shakespeare Theatre for a Shakespeare workshop. They put on a performance of a Shakespearean play. 

Create Something Amazing

The children in Year 3 and Year 4 work with a local artist to create a large-scale piece of art. 

Outdoor Adventures

The Year 5 and Year 6 children have the opportunity to go on two different residential adventures, developing resilience, teamwork, friendship, independence, self-confidence and more.
