Christian Values

At Ilmington C of E School, we live and learn through our Christian Values of Service, Thankfulness, Compassion, Friendship, Peace, Hope, Fellowship, Forgiveness and Reconciliation with Love and Respect at the heart of everything we do. We focus on a different Christian Value in our Collective Worship each term.

Each class has their own Christian Value which they demonstrate throughout the year. They learn about the importance of their Christian Value through their actions and focus on Bible stories and parables. Each class has a Bible verse that they aim to live by as they strengthen their understanding of their Class Value. This is overarched by our school Bible verse, which is, "For with God, nothing shall be impossible" (Luke 1 v.37).

Class 4 - Service

Class 4 learn about the value of Service through their work as School Council leaders, House Captains, Buddies and through their duties throughout the school that keep things smoothly. The Bible story that they focus on is the healing of the paralysed man.

Galatians 5:13

'Serve each other with love'

Class 3 - Peace & Reconciliation

Class 3's Class Value is Peace and Reconciliation. They focus on our links with the Diocese of Coventry and they learn about the significance of the Cross of Nails and its role in history with Reconciliation. Their Bible story is the story of Jesus and Peter after the crucifixion.

Hebrews 12 v.14

'Make every effort to live in peace with everyone'

Class 2 (Year 1 & Year 2) - Fellowship

Class 2's Christian Value is that of Fellowship. The children build their awareness of others and their role within the school as a family and team. They learn about the story The Feeding of the Five Thousand.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

'Encourage one another and build each other up'

Class 1 - Friendship

Class 1 focus on the Christian Value of Friendship. In their classroom, they have a Friendship Tree where they all have a leaf. When a person has been a good friend, the children are able to put the reason onto their friend's leaf and they share this with the rest of the class. The children in Class 1 learn about the parable of The Good Samaritan.

Proverbs 17 v. 17

'A friend loves at all times'

Each class has a Reflective Area where children are able to interact with tasks that relate to their Class Value.
