As part of our learning about our Christian Values, the children of Ilmington C of E Primary School (led by the House Captains) work throughout the year to organise and participate in events to raise money for charity. This helps us to develop our understanding of Service, Thankfulness, Compassion, Friendship, Peace, Hope, Fellowship, Forgiveness and Reconciliation as well as Love and Respect through our actions.
At the beginning of the year, the children in each house vote for the charity that they would like to raise money for throughout the year. The charities that were chosen this year are:
Tigers- The Salvation Army Standing up for those who are vulnerable.
Lions- Make a Wish Foundation Life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
Elephants- Cancer Research Research to beat cancer.
This year the children have worked hard to raise money through a sponsored marathon that took place around the school grounds, organised by the House Captains. The children in Class 4 made and sold Christmas pudding pom poms and added the profits to their total. The House Captains are planning a talent show for their next fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and donated to our charities so far.
