Sometimes our children get stuck when they are trying to 'sound out' a word. The following video shows you how to pronounce each sound in the English alphabet code.
If we are careful to sound out each letter, digraph (one sound made of two letters) or trigraph (one sound made of three letters) carefully, it should help our children get used to blending the sounds together to help them read each word. This should also help them as they move on to spelling familiar words correctly.
If you would like further support or advice on how to help your child with reading, please let Mrs Kemp or Mrs Warmington know.
